What is special waste
Special waste is all waste produced by companies and industries that is not managed by the public administration.
Special waste includes scraps from industrial processers, those deriving from agricultural and agro-industrial activities, construction activities, research or medical or veterinary activities or still from commercial or service activities.
The producers of special waste, whether they are companies or industries, are required by law to keep a register of loading and unloading on which to write down all the qualitative information and quantities on the waste which will then be communicated to the Land Registry.
Any waste must be noted in the register within 10 days of its production and unloading. For those companies that produce more than 10 tons/year of non-hazardous waste or 2 tons/year of hazardous waste, it is possible to delegate the compilation of the register to third – party companies, with the care that registers are made available at any time to the supervisory authorities who request it.
